The 2023 Marching Band and Color Guard Performance Schedule 

Competition and Parades

• September 10 — Melrose Victorian Fair (performance time is TBD)
• September 23 — Competition at Medford, Mass.
• September 30 — Competition at Townsend, Mass.
• October 7 — Home Competition (the Melrose Home Show)
• October 10 — Citywide Band Night (held during a regularly scheduled Tuesday night practice from 6:00-7:00)
• October 14 — Competition at North Andover, Mass.
• October 21 — Competition at Wakefield, Mass.
• November 5 (Sunday) — NESBA finals competition (location TBD)

Note: We will provide dates and times as soon as we have them. Also, competitions are on Saturday nights. We practice starting at noon on Saturday, change at school, and then go to the competition. On competition days, students should expect to be at MB from 11:50 a,m, until we return to the high school that night, usually between 7:30 – 9:30 p.m.

Football Games

All game performances are at Melrose High School unless otherwise noted. Students arrive at 6:00 p.m. to get ready. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m.

• Friday, September 15 — vs Malden
• Friday, September 22 — vs Lexington
• Friday, October 13 — vs Burlington
• Friday, October 27 — vs. Watertown

Note: There is no Thanksgiving game performance this year (the game is at Wakefield). A possible performance at a playoff game depends on the football team’s record.

Weekly Rehearsal Schedule starting after Labor Day

Starting on the first Tuesday after Labor Day, practice days and times are:

• Tuesdays – 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.
• Saturdays – 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. (not including competition dates)
